Lomonosov Oriental Studies Journal (Vestnik Moskovskogo universiteta. Seriya 13. Vostokovedenie) follows the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and provides immediate open access to all materials upon publication. Open access fosters the international exchange of scholarly knowledge and enables readers to freely access the journal’s content, including the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to the full texts of articles, subject to the licensing terms.
Starting with Issue No. 1 (2023), the journal’s articles are published in open access under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC 4.0). This license permits reproduction and redistribution of the material in any medium or format, as well as the creation of adaptations (derivative works), provided that the following conditions are met: proper credit to the author(s) and the source (Attribution), a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated (if applicable); and the material is used for non-commercial purposes only (NonCommercial). No additional legal or technological restrictions may be applied that would prevent others from doing anything the license permits.
Copyright in the works remains with the authors. At the same time, it should be noted that the license terms may not apply to certain elements that are in the public domain, to uses allowed under statutory exceptions/limitations to copyright, or to cases where the use of materials is restricted by other rights (for example, privacy rights, confidentiality obligations, or third-party rights to specific illustrations and materials). When using materials from the journal, users must comply with the requirements for proper attribution and the standards of publication ethics.
No fees are charged to authors for submission, review, or publication of manuscripts; expedited publication is not available. Full texts of published materials are available for online download in PDF format from the date of publication of the relevant issue.
